Todd Stuart
Artist Statement
My art-making process consists of photographing beauty in moments that pass us so quickly - usually in my daily travels. I rarely go on planned photo-walks; I just carry my camera with me most of the time so I can catch the serendipity around me. Capturing an image is only part of my process. Looking and seeing, then capturing, editing, processing, printing or posting, and finally, reflection are all equally important to the finished image - if there is such a thing. I work in photography because I enjoy the process of catching those fleeting moments of light and subject that provoke an emotion and a story. I share my work on my website and in gallery exhibitions and I hope when viewers engage with the work they stop and find beauty and emotion in the image and create their own story.
