Kathleen Wilkins
Kathleen studied drawing and ceramics at the University of Cincinnati’s Design Art and Architecture while working on a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Later she studied painting at Xavier University with Bruce Ericsson. Creating her own independent study program, Kathleen has studied with some of the most dynamic and accomplished artists of our time. Landscape: Kay Hurley, John MacDonald, Barbara Jaenicke, Douglas Fryer. Flowers/still life: Kathleen Sperenza, Michael Klein, Mary Beth Karaus, Sadie Valerie, and Michael Keys to name a few.
Today you will find Kathleen painting in her home studio. Her latest work is focused on the ethereal flower paintings of Henri Fantin-Latour and the inspired tonalist landscapes of Henry Twachman and George Innis. Her passion for abstract representational painting can be seen in these current works.
